Swim Platform wants to be free!
The beloved Glen Isle Swim Platform has escaped its tethers twice this season already. It keeps taking off on unexpected trips. One was to the other side of the river where a kind resident contacted us to inform us about it all. The most recent one was tackled closer to home and then secured. The GIIA Board and community volunteers are working on getting it permanently under control soon.
Fido needs a leash
Current topics in the Glen Isle neighborhood include the issue of dogs being leashed or permitted to walk without being secured. Residents are reminded that it is Anne Arundel County law that requires them to be leashed. It’s simply common courtesy to control animals and ensure everyone’s safety.
Reserve Study offers data
The GIIA Board had a professional reserve study performed and just got results recently. All assets and finances were studied closely. Now the board and its Capital Improvement Planning Committee can consider prioritizing the most needed repairs and maintenance. Funding allocation will be easier to plan with the study, but keeping all things current AND saving for future needs and emergencies is challenging. Given the rising cost of most things, there’s never enough to take care of everything. Stay tuned to see next year’s proposed budget in an August mailing to residents.
Be sure to put the date of the Annual Glen Isle HOA Member meeting on your calendars.
It will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd at 7:30 pm at the Clubhouse.
